Wealden Consort has been through some major changes over the last year or so. Our conductor of many years, Maisie Hammond, moved home with John, her husband, to be nearer their daughter in Cambridgeshire and this would have left a vacuum. However, Maisie was as keen as all our members to find a replacement and we were pleased to start work with Cornelis Taekema at the end of April 2003. We had our first concert with Cornelis on Saturday 29th June 2003 at Headcorn Church and have since visited Maisie's new home in St Neots which provided a base for a couple of concerts arranged by her.
