Where we have performed

While the majority of its performances are given in Kent and East Sussex, the consort has sung in several counties in the west country and eastern England, including two visits to St Ives, Cornwall. One such tour included a performance of the Mozart Missa Brevis as part of the traditional Tridentine Mass at Wardour Castle, attended by a congregation of around 150 with some travelling from as far as London. Other places where the group has performed include Great Malvern, Cheltenham, Penzance, Warminster, Rutland, Fladbury (Worcs.), St Neots, Beominster and Heuringham (Pas de Calais).

The group normally performs six to eight concerts a year, including a series in the Christmas season when the highlight is a fund-raising carol concert for Hospice in the Weald, previously performed at St Ronan's School and All Saints, Hawkhurst, but for the last few years at St Laurance Church on the Moor at Hawkhurst - always a `sold out' event.

At each concert, we help raise anything from a few hundred pounds to in excess of £1,000 towards the various charities or causes for which the concerts had been arranged. This gives the members of the consort immense satisfaction not forgetting that we also enjoy singing the wonderful variety of music that is available. We are also lucky in being asked to sing "world premiers" of our conductor's music, two items of which are included in the sound files that can be played under the page "Listen to the Consort".

Saturday, 10 March	S, Barnabas' Church, Royal Tunbridge Wells We returned to this magnificant church for a concert of sacred music with some other lovely items.

Sunday, 10 December	Hospice in the Weald Christmas concert at Saint Ronan's School in Hawkhurst. This was a return to a former venue for our annual fund-raising concert for the Hospice. Thanks to St Ronan's for their hospitality and to the audience who were very appreciative of our efforts.
Saturday, 9 December	All Saints' Church, Woodchurch, (Woodchurch is in a parish ‘cluster’ with Appledore, Ebony, Stone and Wittersham) A Christmas Celebration in words and music in aid of the Friends of All Saints' Church, Woodchurch.
Saturday, 21 October	We couldn't stay away. We returned for our next concert to All Saints Church, Hastings for a concert in aid of World Alzheimer's Day
Saturday, 20 May	We returned to All Saints Church, Hastings for another concert in this wonderful church. There was a write-up in the Hastings Observer. Click here to view
Saturday, 18 March	St Peter's Church, Newenden. A Spring Concert of sacred and secular music by Mozart, Schubert (23 Psalm), Faure (Cantique de Jean Racine), Bernstein (excerpts from West Side Story) and popular songs from the '30s and '40s. In aid of the Friends of St Peter's.

Sunday, 11 December	Hospice in the Weald Christmas concert at St Laurance Church, The Moor, Hawkhurst - Raised over £1,000
Saturday, 3 December	We took part in a commemorative concert at the Maidstone Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the occasion of the 200th Anniversary of the Prophet Joseph Smith's birth.
Saturday, 19 November	A combined concert of the Wealden Consort with our own director and the Tenterden Singers directed by Stephen Pusey at St Mary the Virgin Church in Rolvenden.
Tuesday, 19 July	The Consort returned to Canterbury Cathedral for evensong. The anthem we chose to sing was "Bogoroditsye Dyevo" by Sergei Rachmaninov. It was generally agreed that the Consort sang this beautifully and indeed many in the congregation expressed appreciation after the service.
Saturday, 18 June	A concert held at All Saints Church, Hastings in aid of church funds.
March/April	Tour of Mallorca. This deserves a seperate web-page wich can be viewed by clicking here "MALLORCA TOUR". The majority of our members took part in this tour which was unanimously thought of as a highly successful event, to be repeated in some unsuspecting part of Europe!
Friday, 21 January	A Concert to raise funds for the Tsunami Appeal at St Mary's Church, Salehurst, Robertsbridge. This concert held at short notice was well supported.Please click here to view the leaflet and programme for this concert.
